For six years, the Illinois Early Childhood Fellows Program has been preparing new diverse leaders to strengthen the field of early childhood policy and systems building in Illinois. In that time, 13 terrific candidates have flourished in the fellowship, gaining dynamic experiences and extending the success of the organizations where they were placed.

In the summer of 2015, the focus was transitioned from the Illinois Early Childhood Fellows Program to the Senior Leaders Program that provides a greater impact on the field for diverse professionals in early childhood (see Senior Leaders for more information). The Fellows Program came to a close as the last Fellows completed their assignments in June 2015.

Erikson Institute, the nation’s premiere graduate school in child development and early childhood education, research and service, is the new home of the Senior Leaders Program. Erikson Institute is proud to be leading the evolution of a program that has produced 13 accomplished Fellows (see Alumni Network for bios and to stay up to date on what the Fellows are up to)

The Fellows still remain connected to the program and will continue to be supported well into the future. See FAQs for more details regarding the transition.
